Feature request: Scroller Home Frame

Hello,

I have scrollers and a slowly growing selection of scrolls. I am in the process of building a new base file for my venue to include my stock scrolls. I would like them to home to the clear frame, which is a different numbered frame on each variant of scroll. Now I know I can set a home value in patch/fixture, or can create a 'home' preset, but it would be really handy to be able to set a home frame when creating a scroll on the desk, so that whenever I change scrolls in a scroller I don't have to adjust patch or presets.

Is that possible?

  • As a workaround:

    1. Set up a home preset
    2. Write a background macro (eg 801) that opens that preset in blind, selects all of your channels with scrollers, then says "Color_Gel 0/0" at the end. This should put all of those channels in the clear frame as a new home point. (Extra credit for using "query type scroller" instead of a channel list in case you add - or more likely remove - scrollers channels later.)
    3. Test to make sure this works. It might be a little funky if you have frames with other non-colours in, like silk, diffusion, etcetera. It also requires that you have a clear frame, of course.

    Good luck-

  • It actually doesn't require that you have a clear frame!  The console should do it's best to match to R00 with every selected fixture.  So if your lightest color is R60 in that scroll, it will set the scroller to R60 when you ask for R00.
