Repeating circuits

I just started at a new high school with repeating circuits.  I have never been in a repeating a system. We have an Ion board with Strand Dimmer Rack. How do I distinguish one set of circuit from another? For example; the cove position on house right has circuits 61a-66a while house left has 61b-66b, of course when I tell channel 61 thru 66@full it brings up both sides.

  • Is there an AB switch somewhere? Is this a multiplex situation?
If not multiplex then you just have to do the math more carefully and only bring up both sides together, because you only get 6 circuits total across those 2 positions.
  • What you have described leads me to believe that these 6 circuits are paralleled on both sides. The A and B are just to indicate that they are on the same dimmer. Some architects or theatrical consultants ask for them to be labeled with A and B. As Jay mentioned, you just need to be careful that you don't put too many fixtures on the dimmer and trip it's breaker. You won't be able to bring them up separately, unless you have space in the rack to have an electrical contractor split them up into two separate sets of 6 dimmers.
