Is the iRFR going to be affected by Apple's "clearout"?

Is this going to be a problem for the iRFR?  The last update to the iRFR was in 2012, and while we've just been going on using it as-is, I'm concerned that it's going to "drop out" of the app store making it unavailable to new devices.   I hear rumblings that the iRFR does have a development planned for it, but we haven't seen anything yet...
