I have an Arri HMI with a dark vader in mode 3 (single channel). I want to be able to control both the intensity via the douser and the lamp itself (via a DMX independent). How is best to do this?
Initially I tried patching as two parts of one channel, like you would with a scroller, with part 1 as the dark vader (as this would be intensity) and part 2 as a non dim at 50 (lamp control). Sending the channel to a value causes the desk to output the same DMX on both address (as in both parts).
I also tried to create a fixture but I'd need to set two DMX addresses to one fixture as my DMX independents are on one universe (same as my house dimmers) and DMX to the dark vader is on a different universe. Is there a way to solve this. Obviously I could use two different channels but I'd like to keep it as one channel for neatness.
