"No Installers Found"

Hi, I'm the student technical director for performances at my school. I'm attempting to update my ETC ION running v1.4.0 to v2.4.0. I downloaded the .zip file (then unzipped it), and put in the root folder of a M-DOS (FAT32) formatted flash drive. I turned the console off, plugged the flash drive into the back of the ION, turned it on, and attempted to update the software but it said "No Installers Found." Am I doing something wrong?

Wow, it's going to be like a new desk when you manage to get it upgraded!

I'm wondering because you're on such an old version whether there's a possibility the new installer name isn't being recognised as an installer. There are ways to run the installation via Windows but you'd be best off calling technical support in your country and they can help you out.

I agree, it's the installer name. Support can help. And then read up on all the release notes in between. A lot has happened in the last 6ish years. Give yourself some time with the console before the next production to get reacquainted

Yep, looked like it was the file name. My current ION board says it's "assigned as: offline" and is called "Ion Offline." Should I be downloading the Eos Family ETCnomad Software and not the normal Eos Family Console Software because of this?

no. and starting with 2.4 there is only one installer for both versions (nomad and console).

did you call support?

Yes, I called support. They gave me a .exe file name change.

Yeah it says "Assigned As: Offline" in the about panel of the console (not sure if that means anything though). Also, changing the .exe name didn't seem to do it. I even tried going from v1.4.0 to v1.7.0 instead of going to v2.4.0, still didn't find the installer.

So your on 1.7 now?
Press Displays, click Exit, press Select twice. You should now get to the shell. You'll be presented with a choice, click Primary. I claim "off-line" is gone now.

No, I'm still running on 1.4.0. I'm not able to install anything newer because of the "no installers found" error.

And when you are on the phone with ETC, make sure to ask them to send you the new keycaps. Going from 1.4 to 2.4 means a few physical key changes to go with the new functions.
