I need a hard copy of the ION V1.4 users Guide. I do not have the capability to print such a large document. I called my local Office Depot and they will not print it because it is copyrighted! Can I order a printed manual? What will it cost?
We can get you permission to print the manual if you need it.
But first, look inside the front cover (bottom of the second page)...
"ETC permits the reproduction of materials in this manual only for non-commercial purposes. All other rights are reserved by ETC."
This was put there to help resolve this issue. (Basically, we just don't want people printing them and trying to sell them. Everyone one else can have at it.) If that's still not enough for them, I will gladly send you (or them) a note saying that they can print the manual. Tech Serv has also sent out the same kind of notes for those that need them.
We really just want you to be able to get the information you need as easily and quickly as possible.

Will a permission slip from my mother work also? (She's a copyright lawyer...just kidding.) Thanks for adding that phrase. I find it odd that Kinko's/Office Depot cares about printing a PDF. That's what they're there for, isn't it?
BTW, in 1980, Strand-Century had no problems with my university copying the Light Palette's user manual--they even suggested it. I wish I could find mine. Many sections are still applicable to Ion/Eos. ;-)
