Quicker Access to Direct Selects (Ion)

As a live playback programmer, it would be nice to be able to quickly and easily change my Direct Selects with as few keystrokes as possible.

Also, I like to keep one DS module at the bottom left of my main screen, and another in the CIA (bottom left of the other screen). Only problem is, the module in the CIA goes away every time I hit Display, color picker, etc.

In my opinion, the more palettes/effects/presets I can look at and access at once, the better! Why can't I make both screens into DS modules, if need be?

It would also be nice to be able to scroll through DS buttons line-by-line, instead of page-by-page.

What about a hardware interface that would attach were the 1x10 fader wing attaches. It could be a touch screen with tactile over lay. I think that the space could be made for 20 direct selects and the select/expand buttons that we have in the software version. Just an idea.

What about the possibility of being able to use a a fader wings as direct select keys? Maybe even have it so that you access "direct select mode" in the same way you change fader pages? There are 20 keys per bank of 10 faders..... thoughts?

Holy Cow!!! I was *just* getting ready to post this under a separate topic! We have two, 2x20 wings and I am going to have ALOT of spare capacity. What a great way to use all of the extra buttons. I wouldn't think the sliders would even be needed...just the buttons...with the ability to Label!

Actually, that feature is on my list...
Many other things have taken priority over it, but I do intend to get the direct select/fader wing feature in, hopefully soon.

Two things along these lines that I have thought about. First, what about programming an X-keys panel with 80 buttons to access 80 direct selects of choice, either through macros or carefully crafted keystroke sequences. Second, if the fader is down on the wing then the top bump button of the fader set acts as a group sub button in IM mode, which I have used as a primitive Direct Select group type button.
