ETC Gadget not picked up on Mac?

Hi,

For an unknown reason my Gadget 1 is not being recognised by my Mac but it is recognised by my Windows 10 PC. Is there any way of manually installing drivers like I did on my pc or have I missed a step?

Thanks

  • Hello!

Your ETC Gadget needs to be running firmware v1.4.2 to run on Mac.

You can update this firmware using your PC via the Settings menu in the Eos Family Shell.

If you are running ETCnomad Eos v2.4.1 the firmware is already on the Windows machine and you just need to use {Maintenance}>{Upgarde I/O Firmware} to update it.

If you are running an older version you should first install this update:  High Speed I/O Driver and Firmware

This should all be done via your Windows machine, and then you can bring the Gadget back to the Mac and it should work.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Sasha .

could you please share who will I update my firm ware for gadget . Thanks
  • Hello,

The download linked above contains a document with instructions as well, but here they are in case:
Step 1: Run the ETC HS Driver and I/O installer.
a: This will install the Gadget and Programming Wing I/O drivers onto the Windows PC as
well as the firmware needed to upgrade these units. If you are a Windows PC user, you
can stop after step 1. If you are a Mac user, please continue to step 2 in order to update
your Gadget or Programming Wing I/O card for use with Mac El Capitan.
    On Windows PC:
Download the file ETC_HS_Driver_and_IO_v1_4_2.zip. Unzip this file and run the
ETC_HS_Driver_Update.exe file. Follow installer on screen instructions
    Step 2: Install Firmware
Use the Windows PC or Console to install the new v1.4.2 firmware on
your Gadget or Programming Wing I/O Card.
a: Be sure the Gadget or Programming Wing is connected to the Windows PC or Console
    before continuing.
Open the Eos Family ETCnomad Software on your Windows PC
    • Choose {Settings}
OR on an Eos Family Console
    • Choose {Exit} from the browser
    • Confirm and then choose {Settings}
    • Click on {Maintenance} on the right side of the settings menu.
Once you are on the appropriate page you should see a button for {Upgrade I/O
    Firmware}.
A new window entitled "I/O Downloader" will open. It will say Please Connect Console. In approximately
20 seconds it will begin to find you Gadget or I/O card.
Once the display changes to "Please Download Firmware" choose the file in the drop down menu. You
    need IO_CARD_v1_4_2_9_0_005.SRC. Click {Download}.
Once the progress bar is completed, please shut down your Windows PC or Console and then power back
    on.

    Thank you,
  • Thanks But I using MAC OSX High serria sorry to let you know before. and dont know how to update Mac OSX firmware in it. Thanks G
  • Hello,

I think perhaps I remain a bit confused.
Are you talking about updating your Mac OS or your Gadget?
If you need to update the gadget you will need to use a PC.
If you need to update the Mac OS then I think perhaps Apple technical support may be able to be of more assistance than I can.

    Thank you,
  • Sorry My question is bit stupid . Actually I am first time user of Nomad with Gadget. dont know how to run the same .
