Stomping and priority with multi cue lists

I am trying to run a second cuelist for some lighting but with the new fader priority settings I cannot work out how to get my main cuelist to reassert itself.

I am triggering the second cuelist using a macro run from the cue.  This does: Goto_Cue 21/1 Time

Cue 21/1 auto kills itself

The main cuelist channels in the 21/ list always get stomped and dont return.

How can I get the second cuelist to run, and then the used channels be reasserted when the list releases?

Thanks

Jim

  • There are many ways to do this.

I wouldn't be using a macro to trigger the other list, best to use Cue X {Execute} [Cue 21/1], this will make the list run rather when go to cue 1.

You could then set up list 21/ to be restore to background on the 'Go From Last' setting. Then just give cue 21/1 a Hang or Follow on time. This will then just release list 21/ when it's finished.

This is one option many others would work.
  • Hi Nick and thanks for the reply.
I tried your suggestion, but on the main cuelist, the values do not return to the previous values - they just fade to default (grey) when 21/ releases which is what I have been getting doing it my way using the macros.
I actually don't think that using a macro to run the exec command is any different to having the goto 21/1 in the cue.
So, its still a mystery to me how to get the background values to restore properly.
