Gio @5 - tech specs Discussion

Hey everyone,

a few days ago i read about the tech specs of the @5.

I was interessted what makes this new console great.

The first few thinks that come to me where those:

First:

The @5 is only a few cm smaller than the Gio. 641mm vs. 774.7mm (@5 vs. Gio)

Second:

The @5 is, while beeing "smaller", heavier than the Gio. About 3kg more. 23.59kg vs. 20.5kg (@5 vs. Gio)

Third:

The @5 can: "Show import from [..] Grand MA1, Grand MA2, [..]". Can be found under 'Features'.

Well:

Why is the @5 smarter than the Gio. Importing Grand MA1&2 Shows while Gio can't. There Must be a new Software on the @5 (only).

And why is the "half" Gio, the @5, slightly smaller AND heavier at the same time.

I thought having a "half"-Gio would be cool and easy. Best for the side-stage. But ... no!

I love to hear/read your thoughts about my 3 point. And you may have some others.

Give them all to me here : )

  • Hi Mathilda -

not entirely. On your own, you can import the ASCII File into Eos, but you only get ASCII info - Dimmer patch, Cues, Non-ML info.

If you email us your MA Showfile, we will return to you an Eos showfile with much more info. This conversion can only be done by ETC, though its fast and free. Currently MA2 showfiles can be converted better than MA1 - about 95% of the showfile is converted. Email us if you need a MA2 Showfile converted into Eos.
