ETC Element 60: Keep all attributes of moving lights out of Cues

I have an idea I would like to try. I use magic sheets and macros for all my effects and moving lights.

What I would like to do is to choose weather a cue will have any affect on my movers.

Live Music Example. When busking a show I would like to bring up a generic cue with my conventional and LED fixtures and run my movers with macros. Then I would like use the cues to change the background look of the conventional and LEDs on the stage without affecting the movers.

Drama Example: I would want all attributes to be affected by the cues for theatrical work. (This is how things are set up now.)

So basically right now, if I bring up cue 1, My selected conventional fixtures come up to 50%, My LEDs come up to (RGB), and my profiles come to focus point 1, Beam palette 1, A nice pretty little static scene.

Then I use a macro to start a move effect on the profiles. I then want to change my cue to change the background look on the stage. When I do my profile effect clears out and my movers go to a home position.

So in a nut shell I want the movers and their effects to not be affected by a cue change.

Any help?

Thanks so much you guys have been great will all my questions. I really appreciate it.

  • as long as you don't record any parameter values into your cuelist this should work exactly like you describe.
on the bigger consoles you could make a partition, but that's not available on an element. but with careful selection of what you record, you can get there as well.
selective recording (e.g. with RecordOnly) will help. if you already have this data in the cues, go to blind, select a cue (or all cues with Cue 1 Thru Enter) and then type Chan 1 At Enter (if channel 1 is a moving light).
