When you use the new exclude functionality, there are some helpful info displayed in the fader info. If you exclude record, you get "Ex:Record" in the display. However, Solo, Inhib, and GM also put a "Record" item in the list. You can see this in the 2.5 introduction video as well when the features are demoed.
