Lightwright 6/OSC and Ion/Eos 2.5

I am unable to connect Lightwright 6 to Ion running Eos 2.5, I am also unable to send some commands (like GO)  from the iOS App oscRFR  to Ion/Eso that worked in 2.4 is anyone else having the same issues and if so does anyone have a workaround?

  • I have not seen any issues with oscRFR in Eos 2.5. I would suggest double checking nothing changed in your network settings and review the setup guide on http://alienstagecraft.com
  • I just took a quick look, and the primary go button in oscRFR does nothing when connecting to nomad on my PC. Everything else works perfectly however, including the primary stop/back button, and the windows above the stop/go buttons show the valid loaded cue list. I should note however that I have never had cause to use oscRFR for go so I cannot attest to its function under previous versions of Eos.
  • Have you updated oscRFR recently. What is the listed version in the options menu of oscRFR? There was a bug where if you had a cue list other than cue list 1 loaded on the master fader the go button wouldn't work. It should be fixed in the release build of oscRFR currently. Also make sure you have loaded a cue list to your master fader as this is a per user function of recent eos releases.
  • Hi Andrew,

It's v1.2 which is the latest version available in the apple store. Cue list 1 is loaded to the master playback and there is no other cue list. It plays correctly on the master fader pair on the keyboard popup in nomad, and via iRFR. In oscRFR however, the Go button on the master playback (larger buttons on the lower left in the remote and playback screens) does not work. The "stop" button works correctly, allowing me to move backwards through the cue list, and the current and pending cues appear correctly in the text fields above the buttons. If I load cue list 1 to an additional fader in the app, everything works correctly on that fader's playback. As far as I can tell, everything in the app is working properly except the master go button.

This was all in nomad 2.5 (PC windows 10) on a brand-new show file I created ten minutes ago. I think I have an old laptop I can load with 2.4 and see if that makes any difference.

  • What device are you running oscRFR on and what software version is on that device? I will check on this and see if I can reproduce.

Please look inside the oscRFR app in the menu and let me know what the version is listed.  I have current release as 1.2.2

    Thanks,

  • I'm using an ipad mini 4 with the latest ios (10.2).

The oscRFR version shows on screen as 1.2. Just so we're clear, that's found at the bottom of the popup when you click the logo in the upper left corner, right? It's identical to what is available on the apple app store, dated October 26, 2016--there's no indication of any version newer than that and no option to update.

My old laptop had eos 2.2 loaded on it, so I updated to 2.4.0.9, set everything to enable use of oscRFR, and created an extremely simple show with two cues. The go button on the app worked. Then I updated eos to 2.5.0.9, however I had forgotten to save the show file so I created a new one exactly the same as the one before. The go button on the app did not work. Running the app off my iphone 6 (also ios 10.2) had the same result.
  • I see the new oscRFR version is on the app store now, I will update and report back when I have a chance to test it.
