Silly issues from a new Ion user...

I am about to install a new Ion in my venue, and I am struggling with what to do about the monitors.  I am curious what others have.  What type of monitors do you all use?  What are the pros/cons of touchscreens?  Do many people use them?  I am looking at monitors, and most of what I am seeing out there are widescreen.  Is this bad?  I know that 1280 is the min. resolution, but is going higher better?  What do you all suggest?  Also, do both monitors need to be DVI?  What about monitors attached to a RVI?

Next, what is the significance of the scroll lock?  I have seen this on alot of posts on various sites, but I am confused about what scroll lock does and/or why it is so important...

Any input is apreciated...

  • In addition to the commentary above (thanks gentlemen), the RVI can use up to 2 monitors, either SVGA or DVI.  As it has only a Y-cable output, the monitors must both require the same signal though.  Minimum 1280x1024 resolution.  You can use higher-res monitors and on some of the displays this will allow more data to be displayed.   In 1.5, though, many of the displays become zoomable (similar to the channel summary, aka tombstone view).

    Hope this helps!
