I spoke with Anne and she said they are working on new manuals using an authoring system that takes the information about the software and then generates a separate manual for each console. This will be good but I would like to request that it also be used to generate one manual that has information about each console.
There are a lot of us that have to use different consoles on different jobs and this would help to learn all consoles at the same time and also better acquaint us with the differences between each console.
Now that we have the Tab 7 virtual keyboard, almost any button press from any console can be duplicated on any other console so you wouldn't need to worry about which hard keys are on which console.
I'm guessing it would be like an Eos Ti manual with a few notes about other consoles.
The manual supplements are already written in this way. An example from EosFamily_v2.5.0_OperationsManualSupplement_RevA.pdf, which lost its formatting when I pasted it in:
Encoder Shutter Controls
New shutter controls have been added to the shutter encoder display.
Note: For Ion, ETCnomad, RPU, and RVI, the encoder display can be accessed by using
CTRL + ALT + \ on an alphanumeric keyboard. ALT + , can be used to change encoder pages.
