exclusive shielded subs come up on start

Question about exclusive shielded subs used for power of HMI`s:

on a Gio with 2.5 we experienced that the exclusive subs recorded for the ignition of HMI`s will automatically come up when loading the showfile..is this a bug, or a know issue (i was reading the release notes for 2.5.1, but did not found it..), how do you solve this, or is there a workauround to avoid the subs from coming up..i read that if i did not save the showfile, it comes up in the exact last state, could this be the reason (did not try out this, becaus its not so good for the HMI`s to ignite them that often)..Thanks!

  • ok i tried a little bit with Nomad 2.5.09.0.63 on Mac, and i am a bit confused because i cannot say when the problem occurs.
    What i do:
    Go to Cue Out
Ch99 at Full Record Sub 99, make the sub shielded (and Record exclusive)
    Option 1:
i save the showfile now (Sub 99 is on)
then Sub 99 at Out Enter
    then EXIT
    >> when the Console comes up, Sub is Full
    Option 2:
Sub 99 at Out, then Save Showfile
Then Sub99 at Full, Sub 99 at Out Enter (as we would do it in the Show)
Dont save showfile (because its already saved in "Out" Status..)
    EXIT
Console comes again up with Sub Full
it should not because the Sub was Out
But i did not load the Sub to the fader (its just virtual..)
tried it with a loaded sub, and its the same..
Unfortenately it functioned before in the supposed way, last state came up..
    New try:
    - it functioned when saving the showfile with sub out, and next time not, sub is again at full
maybe that is a problem of the mac because sometimes i got an fail when exit
    but im not sure..
seems to be a problem of saving the last state..
  • Do you probably have a startup macro firing a snapshot?
  • ok, i had a look as well. i agree with Johannes that something is fishy. this is what happens (at least that's what it looks lie after three minutes of trying):
    - if you leave your shielded sub at a value, it will stay there when loading a showfile.
    - if you use Sub 1 Out Enter to home it (channel tombstones will be empty) and then load a showfile, the sub will go to the value it had before it was "outed".
    - if you use Sub 1 Out Enter to home it (channel tombstones will be empty), exit to the shell and start the software again, the sub will go to the value it had before it was "outed".
  • ok, im happy not telling something wrong.
its the behaviour of Out/ or Home only for the virtual fader of the sub..
thanks Uli for testing it.. now we know how to get a workaround for the problem..
