Record CMY Palette globally

Is there a way to record the CMY color mix data from one channel into a palette so that it can be instantly accessed by all other channels?

Only way I can see to do it right now is to record the palette, go into blind, select the palette, then copy the channel's information to the rest of the group.  Takes WAY too much time.

Thanks!

  • Ethan, we are planning to do global color palettes.... planned for the 2.0 release (not solid date yet, so .... ).

    Thanks!

  • Hi Anne,

Any updates on when that 2.0 release will be available??

  • Hi Beth.  No, not yet.  We will be releasing 1.4.3 early next week, which fixes some critical issues that force an exit of the application (related to About and Lamp controls).  This will be followed up with 1.5 (which is targeted for early Spring '09).  I think until we get further into 1.5, its hard to put a viable date on 2.0.  But, if you look back through the past two years, we've done a major feature release every 4-6 months.  Does that help?

    Hi Anne-

2.0 sounds like a pretty major release... are we going to go from 1.5 to 2.0 rather than 1.6? Curious what sorts of major things are on the list to justify a whole number step up?

Here's my fear: I've heard around the block that there will be more differences/separation between Eos and Ion than there is currently. I really like how similar they are and how the client version of Eos offline can be used with Ion. I hope this is merely a rumor.

Thanks for all your hard work, this thing continues to improve with each release! I am a huge fan, and try to get everyone to buy one every chance I get!

  • 2.0 is a major release.  And, while I'm not trying to be cagey here, until we are further into it, I'd rather not explain why we are planning to go from 1.5 to 2.0 (although don't be surprised if there is at least 1 1.5.x release between 1.5 and 2.0).  Software numbering conventions are largely marketing driven.   The "2.0" release has planned several conventions that lead us to identify it as a landmark in the product line's development.

I'm not sure where you heard that Ion and Eos will diverge paths.  Totally untrue.   Every feature planned for Eos will also be implemented in Ion.   And there are several existing Eos features that you will see appearing in Ion as well (tab views will not be one of them :-).    Anytime you hear something that concerns you like that, please feel free to ask for clarification here.

Thanks for the positive feedback and the assistance!
