Element Upgrade from v2.2 to v2.5; What will happen to my configuration?

OK. I went ahead with the upgrade. All went perfectly smoothly except that a single output no longer works. I checked the patch configuration, and the addresses are still set. I just get no output.

I'm using the 120-channel board. All of my other fixtures are between Ch 1 and Ch 40. The one channel with a problem is Ch 60. It may be coincidence that it is the only problematic channel, but I thought there may be a chance of the channel range being related.

Any ideas?

you should look for other stuff that's different. channel is something completely inside the console, it would be surprised if that was the problem. is it the only one that uses a different output at the back of the console? does it use network through a different gateway? is there a way to verify that the problem is in the console and not just the light that broke by coincidence at the same time?

I can't find anything else that is different.

Every channel on the console goes through the same DMX output.

I'll have to figure out a way to test the light directly, but that would be one heck of a coincidence. I was using the light right up until the upgrade. In fact, it is 6 lights—RGB LED arrays—tied to a single channel.

So - channel 60 is patched to the next address after all your D40s. When I bring the intensity up,

the Output in patch Shows it Outputs. I would check the Lamp, or the Connection to the lamp if dmx is arriving.

 

 

Everything else Looks fine - you only have 248 of 250 Possible Channels patched and

347 Addresses of 1024:

Check that the address of the RGB Led fixture is still set to 161, and that its mode is still 3x channel if possible to Change. Never assume that anything hasn't changed.... murphy's law - if it can go wrong, it does.

Right. I was seeing the same thing you were. Everything seems fine in the console. It just seems awfully coincidental that this happened at the same time as the upgrade. Also, the chances of several lights failing simultaneously seems slim.

Well, if something changed on the other end, it happened DURING the upgrade, which is kind of weird. I will look into it, though. Thanks for the help.

So there are multiple RGB Fixtgures with the address 161 that aren't responding? How do they get their DMX?
via DMX Outputs on the console? via a Network DMX Gateway?

As for "coincidences" in theatre... I have seen it all.

Its safer to go the light and check it, or take one of those lights and plug directly into the back of the console and see if reacts there.

Honestly, I'm not sure of the details. I believe there is a gateway, but they could all be daisy-chained. I am finding out.

There are a total of 6 fixtures tied to channel 60. So, I suppose that means there are 2 fixtures per address.

Wait. Actually, RGB—that's the three channels, right? So, all 6 fixtures share these 3 addresses.
