Bug? Update cue is'nt possible when using submasters at <100%

Same problem with additive subs.

ok, let's go step by step:

first question:
footlight too bright, you bring down the inhib? and then try to Update? update will only work for manual channels (i.e. written in red font) that's its whole purpose, so unless you get the console to paint the text in red (e.g. {Make Absolute} ), update is the wrong tool for the job.

or is your problem something different? (i have a suspicion but let's take it step by step)

In my case, which is slightly different:
Additive exclusive sub at 50. I set higher values manually (red values) update enter : error channellost empty, values stay red

Don't want to update the sub, but the cue.
To be precise: sitting in cue x,
Sub is up at 50% (for example houselights) manually set them at 100% (not the sub, but the channels contained in the sub).
Values get red
Update enter
Channel list empty, values stay red

Tried it with a non exclusive sub, same behavior

then Update Cue Enter. the main rule is that values are updated back to where they come from. in your case the winning background value is from a sub, not from a cue. so in your case according to those rules the sub should be updated. the reason why this doesn't happen is a protection for your subs.

Understand the idea (now) thanks for pointing out.

But I still feel that in then the error message is extremely misleading, since the channel,list should not be empty. It's manual values there. I got it that the console doesn't know where to update, but I'd think a message "specify target" would be better....

Update Cue doesn't work either.....

Instead of using an inhibitive sub, select the channels and type "@ / 50 Enter". That will set all the levels to half of their current value, and leave them manual so you can update as normal.

Subs are, by design, excluded from updates. They aren't excluded from records (by default anyway), so using record is also an option

Thanks, but that still doesn't solve my issue. I don't want to update subs, I want to update a cue.

What I suggested would update the cue. Not a sub.

Sitting in a cue, select the channels and type @ / 50 enter. Now all your selected channels will be at half their previous intensity. Then set your one channel to 20%. Then press update enter.

Since you didn't use a sub, and all your changes are manual, update will update the cue.
