How can i map a macro to a hard key on ion? e.g. on the fader wing or somewhere else

There was a post eight years ago that said this feature was on its way, but I can't find an update.

You can map it to a bump button on a fader wing. The ion doesn't have any other assignable buttons. 
To make a bump button on a fader wing, assign a sub to the fader and then assign a macro to the sub by typing Sub 1 {Execute} {Macro} 1 Enter
