I need effects help with an Element board.

I have 4 ColorKey 3 LED par cans running in 3 color mode. I am good now with controlling them but what I want to do is create an effect where all 4 instruments fade through various colors preferably independently. I am very new to effects and don't know where to start. What is the easiest way to make this happen? Once the effect is created I am good with storing it on a submaster.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

  • there are some choices you have to make:

are there specific colors you want to hit? and when you say independently, do you mean that not all 4 do the same thing simultaneously but still have the same sequence of colors, or do you mean that the follow different sequences with different colors?
  • No specific colors and I think if they followed the same sequence but not not at the same time. By that I mean if they are sequencing through R, G, B, and W then one starts on each color so they all have different colors at one time. Also, It would be nice if they faded between the colors rather than blinked.
  • The two choices you have are an Absolute effect or a Color effect.
The absolute effect could have a color palette as each step, but if course you would have to record them first.
The Color effect would be faster to create because you don't need to create color palettes first. But other than the absolute effect, a color effect is relative, meaning it looks different if you start it when the fixtures are in a different color than last time you started it. A color effect uses math to modify the previous color.
