How do see a colorsource par on your rdm list on a etc ion?

How are the color source pars connected to the console? Local DMX, optosplitters, networked gateway?

They are connected directly into the desk via dmx. from unit to the desk via dmx

Then you might have activated RDM in the wrong place. In the shell, go to Settings > Local I/O and activate RDM there.
You might also need to go Settings / Maintenance and Update the firmware of you I/O card, as RDM wasn't supported locally from the beginning.

I know it might sound silly but where would i find the firmware update. The console is in the most recent softwear release of the ION.

there are no silly questions! It would be silly not to ask a question. ;)

When the current Eos Family Software Update v2.5.1 is installed on your Ion

Console, the needed firmwares are stored on the harddrive on the Ion, so that

when you are ready to update the Firmware on the IO Card, its there. You just Need

to go to SHELL->SETTINGS->Maintenance (TAB)->

then on the left at the bottom  in the Firmware Update you will select your IO Card,

and perform an Update, by clicking on the IO Card, the pressing UPDATE button

on Screen. If you do not see an IO Card in that Firmware Update Window,

then you have an older IO Card (to confirm, older IO Cards still have the TELEPHONE Jack

on the Back of the console near the DMX Outputs for remote control, and then

you would use the UPGRADE IO FIRMWARE Button just about the Firmware Update window:

 

This Information is listed in the Release Notes for the Eos Family Update, which should

always be read when updating the Eos Software on the consoles.

It's also worth updating concert while you're in there. I find it a lot easier to manipulate RDM attributes in concert than in the desk.
