newer version library patch than version of software

Question

hi, 
 is it possible to install the newest library v2.5.2 update for an Element, which has a software running v2.0.x w/o having to update the whole system? 
 or would the library update have to be the same version of the software running?

the software version needs to be the one mentioned in the name of the library. 
 
from the pdf that is part of the library update: 
"NOTE: This fixture library should only be installed with Eos Family 2.5.2 software – do not attempt to 
install this update on a system running different (including later) versions of software."
