Hi,
I am the lighting designer for Vistamar School. I am a self taught student designer so I apologize if I do not know all of the technical terms. I have a decent amount of experience though so I should be able to respond to any follow up questions you may have to help solve the problem below.
So I opened up a new show, patched in all of our fixtures, and just brought up the levels on some lights to give some light for rehearsal. Later, I went to start programming the show and there were already cues 1-5 on the show because our director went and recorded a few cues a few days prior to test something. I deleted those cues and proceeded to record cue 0.5. Cue 0.5 consisted of channels 21-25 at an intensity of 70. I set the fade in time to 3 seconds. I went and recorded cue 0.9 which is a blackout. I then proceeded to record cue 1 which consisted of channel 2 at an intensity of 90 and a fade in time of 2 seconds. I wanted to go back to see what that sequence looked like. When I went to cue 0.5 it had been completely altered and was now exactly like cue 1. I fixed it back to what cue 0.5 was supposed to be and hit GO to proceed to cue 0.9. Cue 0.9 had changed from a blackout to looking exactly like cue 0.5. I fixed cue 0.9 to a blackout and began to think that something was wrong. I then once again pressed GO and cue 1 had been changed to a blackout without me changing the levels.
Basically, whenever I record a single cue as something, it changes every single cue in the entire show to be exactly like that single cue. It also does not hold any of the fade in times that have been set. I believe that is because no change is happening. Has anyone had this same problem? We can not figure it out.
At the very bottom of the monitor there is the box that shows what cue I am currently standing in and what cue is coming up next in my sequence as well as the countdown time to fully being set when transitioning between cues. Normally, the cue I am currently standing in is highlighted in yellow and the next cue is grey. When it is transitioning, the cue it is going to turns red. Right now, the current cue is just staying red and never getting highlighted yellow and there is no fade in countdown.
I have put some of the current settings that we have going below. If you need other setting please let me know and I am happy to share those. Any help is appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for all your help and expertise!
