Changes to Custom M28A - Standard

BY-M28A.pdf

Hi

I have been using the console with M28A moving lights found in custom category, standard profile, and there is 2 small fixes to do:

Channel 6: There is a strobe speed fader missing. We can turn on the strobe on/off but cannot control the speed value. Strangly, it does show in the toombstone channel display, but there is no slider to change it. It works if you change the manual value.

Channel 9: The zoom label displayed should be 60-15 and not 15-60. At 0 value, the zoom angle is 60 degress, and at 100% value, the zoom angle is 15 degres

Channel 20: The range should snap to:

  • 0-79 Normal,
  • 80-99: All Motor Reset
  • 100-255: Normal

There is only 2 intensity channels, Channel 7 (Intensity Master) and Channel 16 (Color Presets Dimmer). Currently, it show 3 intensity faders.

  • Hello!

Strobe - the strobe fader/encoder is hidden by default in ML Controls. You can click on the "Shutter Strobe" heading to show the encoder. In version 2.6, it should show the encoder by default.

Zoom - we can get this updated.

Motor Reset - we convert all ranges of this type into Lamp Controls. If you select the channel and press About, there will be a Lamp Controls tab. Click on Lamp Controls, and there should be a button for Fixture Global Reset (which is our standardized way to show this type of action). It will then set DMX 20 to the value 89 for a bit, and then set it back. This mode is otherwise hidden on the desk, as we don't necessarily want anyone to inadvertently get this captured in a cue or sub. (You can always write a macro to do this if you need it more automated).

There are three intensity faders because the main one - Intens is a virtual intensity fader. We add this any time there is more than one intensity. It masters the other two intensity parameters.

Let me know if this all makes sense and I'll send in the zoom update request. I want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I send it off, in case we have other fixes to do.

  • Hi Hans!

    Thanks for the quick reply

Strobe - Awesome! :) Will try it out, happy to see that it will show by default in 2.6
Zoom - Great! It's a minor thing but it's kinda confusing when you use it lol
Motor Reset: Yes, Make total sense!

Intensity Faders - Again, make total sense, did'nt realised this. But yes, it's perfectly fine!

I don't think there is other changes, so far, the profile works very well!

About dimmer curve, I would like to set it to 203 and always stay that way. Should I set it in the patch?
