I do a lot of step-based effects. When typing [effect] 1 [enter] from a clear command line, it should run the effect. Instead, it gives the error "Error: Effect not running". I know the syntax is supposed to be (all channels in effect) [effect] 1 [enter]. But not only is this an unnecessary step, I keep forgetting to do it, even after 3 years of running effects. The point of a step-based effect is that it already has the channels recorded into the effect itself.
I imagine it would be a good idea to keep the option of (channels) [effect] 1 [enter] for those people who want to apply only part of an effect, but there's no reason why that couldn't still work and be optional.
