Magic Sheet Fixtures and effect intensity

Hi, Do magic sheet fixtures show intensity on step based effects? I have the MS LED fixture set to show intensity. I'm step basing a LED chase effect with full intensity, all colors at a home of zero, and a color of "white" at full stepping thru as a chase. The fixtures show they are selected, but do not show the white light chasing on them. If I just turn any color on for the fixture it works and show it, but not on the effect. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Is your 'home' for the fixtures all colors at zero? That means black!

Default home color is usually white to avoid just this confusion, but there are many reasons to change it.
  • Yes, all the colors are set to a home of zero, (intensity set to 255) which is what works best for me, because if you have all of them at white (255), and you record, such as, a red scene on a sub, then you will get white while pushing the sub up until 100% then you get red. (proportional fader) {maybe there are other ways}?
  • That's all fine for sub mixing. The issue is that your effect needs to have a color selected for all steps. If the color is black it doesn't matter what the intensity is.
  • I found out last night when configured this way, that a step base effect will not work for me even when you select a color at full. So, I changed it to an absolute effect and used a color palette for each step. Then, I found out, on the ML screen, I couldn't select in the color listing, white or UV, but the colors would select fine (RGBA) and I could get white by placing all these colors at 255. I also could not do a color palette of "black"( like u said). So to make the chase of 5 steps, I used a color palette of red in-between (like a background) of the steps of a white color palette (white light chasing) for a total of 10 steps with a grouping of 1. Maybe, I could have used a set of cues for the same result also, but oh well.... Thanks for all the input. - - (using current nomad) - -
