RDM and ColorSource Relay/Spot

I just upgraded the software on our ColorSource Wireless Relays (or attempted to). 4 of the 5 are still showing 1.0p0.0ga-35, 3.0p0.0ga-5 for "Software Version Label" while the 5th shows 1.1.0.9.0.11, 3.3.0.9.0.593 (the 5th was the first one I attempted to update.) All were updated from the same flash drive. I reattempted the installation on each of the other 4.

RDM discovery does (eventually) find all 8 of the ColorSource Spots (but does not seem to come up with them as Deep Blue), which are connected to the 4th relay, but only 1 of the 15 Elation SixPar 300s is discovered. (those are on different relays than the ColorSource Spots).

If anyone has any suggestions of things to try, I'd love to hear them.

  • I'm sorry you're having trouble updating your ColorSource Relays. I would suggest you watch the LEDs on the Relay as it's attempting the update, and check them against the Quick Guide.

"While the relay is updating, the power LED can be used for troubleshooting:

    • fast blinking - looking for USB drive

    • red - upgrade failure

    • cyan - waiting for USB drive connection (no app loaded)

    • magenta - file not found

Note: The Relay LED will blink during radio programming, then the DMX LED will blink during CPU programming."

It would be helpful to know when the update stops working.  I would also try a different thumbdrive or two - I've seen some variance in USB drives that the Relays don't update well from.  Thumbdrives should be 32Gb or smaller, formatted in Fat32.

Is your ColorSource Transmitter updated to v1.1.0?
