Beginner Question about Sub Masters and faders

First question for me here.

I am using the Nomad ofline ion software for learning and we are considering purchasing the student licence for my Son so he can use it at school. 

I know I can record to a submaster list. I do not have fader wings and do not think I will be purchasing them anytime soon because of budget constraints.

Is there an onscreen submaster fader that can be used in place of the faderwing? SOme other software packages do but I really like the Nomad software.

    Yes there is.
    If you open a new workspace (click on one of the three little screens top left, labeled 1-3), you will see an icon labeled "faders"
    That's what you are looking for.
    You also might want to check on the etc elearning and video tutorials, they are quite useful.
    If you have setup your system to accept osc commands and have a wireless system, there is a software called oscIFR (or similar, I never Romberg the name) which offers encoders and faders on a tablet.
