recording Ion subs to fader wing(s)

Hey all,

I know how to record submasters, but am coming up blank as to recording them to a specific fader wing slider with a label.  I just can't seem to find step by step instructions in the manual at all.  If somebody could list the manual page or the instructions...that would be *very* appreciated!

TIA

Have you designated teh fader handle as a submaster?  That will put a number in the LCD display for that fader.  That fader means it is a submaster handle.

Record sub 22 label door enter     will put that look onto fader handle/sub handle 22.

you designate the handles in Browser/Set-up/Show/Fader Configuration.  Click up and down for the page number, then choose which slider (1 thru 10) you want to be either a sub, playback, or Grand Master.

    Page 1 is subs 1 - 10, page 2 is subs 11 - 20, page 3 is subs 21 - 30 etc.

I love the ability to move subs around once recorded, adn get better (more logical) groupings.

    That help?

  • Patrick, are you working on Eos or Ion?  On Eos, to configure a playback as a submaster, just record the submaster and, with that number on the command line, press the [Load] button for the fader you want it loaded to (if there is already a stored submaster or cue list on the fader, this will not work... you will need to release the sub/cue list first).

Because Ion has a default sub-to-channel map, it works a little differently.  If you don't want the default map, first action should be to [Delete] [Sub] [1] [thru] [300] [Enter].  This will delete the contents of the submasters, but leave them physically configured.  As you store sub contents, you can leave the mapping as currently set, or load them to any fader that contains an empty submaster.  Like Eos, you can release the submasters as well.

You can go to fader config in setup to pre-map locations.... but other than configuring a grand master, pretty much everything you need to do to place submasters where you want them can be done from the facepanel.

    Hope this helps.

  • Anne is absolutely right--FYI, the channel-to-sub map does not work in current release software. It will only work in v1.4.2 which should be out very soon.
  • Thank you all for your help...I too am anxiously waiting for 1.4.2!
