Ion can have
1x VGA Monitor (in the VGA Connector), or
1x DVI Monitor (on the DVI Splitter Cable), or
2x DVI Monitors (both on the DVI Splitter Cable), or
1x DVI Monitor (on the DVI Splitter) and 1x VGA Monitor (on the VGA Connector)
The DVI Splitter Cable cannot spit out a VGA signal - so you can only put DVI Monitors
on the DVI Splitter Cable; VGA-DVI Adapters will not work on the DVI Splitter.

Cooper, if both of your monitors ARE DVI and neither of them is working, it could be a faulty splitter or bent pins in the connector. Please give tech support a call. They can help sort this out.
