Thru Thru behavior in Live

Hi All,

When Thru Thru for Cues and Palettes was introduced in 2.5 according to the supplement it is supposed to create the blank record targets in blind and every whole number between the specified #s. I understand this and its intended purpose.

However,

is it expected behavior to be in Live and have [cue] [5] [Thru] [Thru] [Enter]  create cues 5 thru the last in the stack?

This only works when the starting cue number is an existing cue, otherwise you get a does not exist error

I would think you should not be able to mass produce blank cues from Live. Especially without a Confirm.

running 2.5.2 on console. but it seems to occur in 2.6 as well.

it seems less then useful to accidentally create a bunch of cues while trying to select a range to change all to the same time.

Thanks

  • Hi Tim. if you would like to create a mass set of cues in Live try [Record] [Cue] [x] [Thru][Thru][y] and that should work even if you don't start with a cue that exists already. Tracking rules apply.

However, I do agree there is something weird with typing [Cue] [x] [Thru][Thru] [y] and having it just create cues without using a record function in Live and without the need for confirmation. In blind it makes sense that it would create all the cues and is nice it requires confirmation. I'm glad you put it in the forums, it does sound like a bug.
