I just downloaded the updated RFR app for Android, and first off, I gotta say that it's a fantastic update. Kudos to the dev team who put this together! It looks great, has a beautiful design, and adds a lot of functionality to the original app. That being said, I think it's taken a few steps back in a couple of places, and I would love to see these things updated if possible.
(This is being run on a Google Pixel XL phone)
- From the Facepanel / Keypad screen, when I select a channel, I can no longer see what level it is currently at, nor what type of fixture it is.
- In the old app, it would display this information right there.
- Now I have to click over to the ML controls to find this info. (this ends up being a lot of extra buttons to press just to check the levels on a handful of fixtures.)
- In the ML Controls screen, it'd be great to have a Next & Last button.
- In the old app, there was simply a Left and Right arrow on the screen which was extremely handy to have.
- In the ML Controls screen, Hue & Sat virtual faders are not being displayed.
- If I've got an RGB fixture, whether it's just some ribbon or a Skypanel or whatever, I have control over each independent color, but no Hue/Sat control.
I also ran into the following two bugs. So far each of them has happened only once, and I've been unable to reproduce them, but I figure I'd mention them anyways.
- The "1" button became 'stuck' on the Facepanel keypad. It remained lit in the app, but pressing it would not do anything. The other buttons worked just fine. Seems like this stuck state could theoretically happen to any button, but I've no idea what caused it.
- The app once got into a state where pressing buttons would start the command line fresh with each button press. So I was trying to select a 3-digit fixture, but each time I hit a number, it would wipe the command line and display only the last digit I typed.
The "fix" to both of the above bugs was to simply force quit out of the app, then reload it up again.
Once again, great work on the app, and I hope to see continued support for it!
