Still Cannot Figure Out How to Create a Profile for This Generic Mover

The manual that I was given for the fixture is apparently not the manual, and I cannot find one. So, this is what I did.

I plugged up my old Elation slider board to it and have figured out the following:

1. Pan

2. Tilt

3. Intensity

4. Strobe

5. Red

6. Green

7. Blue

8. White

When I hit bank B, it doesn't look like 9 and 10 do anything. 11 looks like color macros.

The church that was using ran them on a ShowXpress. This is how they had them:

It was supposedly a 12 CH, but I looked on the ShowXpress the church was using before moving here, and they had it patched as a 12 CH in a very weird way:

  1. Pan
  2. Titlt
  3. Intensity
  4. Strobe
  5. Red
  6. Green
  7. Blue
  8. White
  9. Strobe color
  10. ???
  11. ???
  12. ???
Literally, the last three channels had question marks on them.

The way I have it set up while building a custom profile is not working. Pan and Tilt seem to be controlling strobe. I am at my wits end with these. You don't know how much I would appreciate some guidance. I am including a picture of my profile build.

  • Finer control. An 8 bit DMX value only gives you 256 possible values which is almost always fine for intensity or color mixing.
But if you take a pan range of 540 degrees and split it into 256 values, that's about 2 degrees per value. 2 degrees could be the difference between hitting an actor squarely in the face and missing the set entirely.

16 bit adds a "fine" parameter that modifies the "coarse" parameter. If you use 16 bit, it gives you 256 squared or 65536 possible values - enough to focus the light precisely.
