I inherited the job of managing a small studio a few years ago with an ION console and 4x10 fader wing. It's been used regularly but it hasn't had any updates and is on version 2.0.1. I'd like to upgrade to 2.6.1 now to utilize new MIDI control features, but that's a big jump, and I haven't done one before.
My show is saved locally and to USB, we have custom fixtures set up... anything I want to be aware of or read more about before executing the upgrade? I'm not too familiar with driving this thing beyond the basics, so my biggest concern is losing custom fixtures, addressing or different default settings we have been unknowingly relying on after the change. We have cues created but no submasters. I've read the read-me and the upgrade process itself is straightforward - it's the potential surprises afterward that give me pause.
