Schieberpaketsteuerung

"Changing the device template does not work that way – that’s common sense.

The encoders have no function anymore. They can only "thrust" or "angle" in the EOS program.

So it does not work anymore. In fact, there are 2 motors per slide, both can 0 to 100%, so you build a function such.

"Angle" with, you automatically have a "smart" control, where both motors change the angle.

But I have already described the problem often enough.

Helpful would be be a statement: either: We change, or it stays the way it is."

  • Sorry for the delay in replying. We are planning a function that will "overdrive" the controls, pushing past the point where moving the thrust or angle would adjust the other other parameter. We've been asked for a tactile notification when this point has been reached, with the ability to continue past it.

This is on our list of shutter control improvements.

  • Thanks for the answer. I really like that idea.

big thanks for solving my problem.

  • Hi Anne,

are there any news about when the "overdrive" function for shutter controls will be implemented? We have the problem with Eos 2.7 and also still in Eos v2.8 that when the angle motor not at 0 is and we try to pull out the shutter blades they get stuck/limited how far they can pullout, and we can only home the blades to get them completely out or bring the angle blade to home or 0. Ideally, we would prefer if it were possible to have an option that we can control each motor/blade individually independent of the other - ie. Thrust and Angle, and then if we don't use this option, an Overdrive function would be nice.

Is there any info when changes/improvements will come here? Or is there a better workaround now?

    Thank-you,

    Robert

  • My experience is that any 'smart' shutter-control (thrust and angle, each affecting both shutter motors and emulating the individual control-values) is perfect for about 90% of the situations; but there comes the day and opportunity where you'd love to control each shutter-motor individually. Other consoles realize that issue with a separate mode: you just switch, get rid of the smart-control and have motor a&b on individual encoders (instead of thrust and angle). This is a feature I really miss at EON-consoles - and it would be very helpful to have it asap!

The 'overdrive'-function would be also very helpful, avoiding the blade getting stuck if on of the motors reach 0%; of course the blade should continue moving out though it can not keep the angle any more...

    Best regards
