LED Effects

Hi

We have two chauvet ovation LED pixel bars.

What we are trying to achieve is to run an effect where pixel bar 1 is in red and pixel bar 2 is in blue for effect 1 step1.

The pixel bar 1 changes to blue and pixel bar 2 changes to red for effect 1 step 2.

I know we can do this using linked cues but I wondered if there was a way to do it on an effect?

Thanx

  • first make two color palettes. CP x has both fixtures in blue, CP y has both fixtures in red. go to the effect list and creat a new effect, choose Absolute as type. in the column level write CP x in the first row, CP y in the second row. done.
to start the effect, head back to live, type Chan 21+22 Effect 5 Enter
  • Thank you, that seems to work maybe I just need to play with timings now.
Another question which you may be able to answer.
Using the same lights, I want to put the red, green and blue onto three different faders but when I do this and put the fader to 100% the light puts all the other colours in giving me a white. How do I get the individual colours onto subs so I can mix the colours from subs?

  • The fastet way would be to select the fixtures and put RGB to 100. Then record it to a sub, say sub 1.

    Then copy Sub 1 to Sub 2 and Sub 3 ( [Sub][1][CopyTo][Sub2][Enter]...)
Then in the Submaster-list ([Sub][Sub]), select Sub 1 and set the Param Filter to Red and repeat these steps for the other two subs and their respective colors.
Load them onto a Fader ([Sub][1][Thru][3][Load]) and you are good to go.
