Gadget 2 blinking red LED

Hi,

I have a friend who bought a ETC Gadget II to use with nomad on his PC.

He plugged it in a couple of days after getting it and its now flashing a red LED slowly, and doesn't output DMX.

I've tested it on another 2 systems, and it doesn't work. I've tested my ETC Gadget 2 on his system, and it works fine.

It is detected by windows 10, 7, 8 and XP, however none of them see it as a device in the firmware loader in the ETC nomad software.

The manual indicates that its waiting for firmware. But it isn't detected so we can't update it.

Is there a way to hard reset it, or manual load firmware onto it?

We've already tried manual selecting the driver.

Thanks,

Josh

  • Hi Sasha,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I was doing some research on it with the friend last night and actually think I have found the solution.
All I had to do was copy the correct file over from this folder, on the gadget II.
    C:\etc\nodesbin
As the red blinking for indicating 'awaiting firmware', and Windows was seeing the device as a hard disk, it would allow me to manually copy the file over, rather then relying on the ETC software. Now it appears to be working fine.
Perhaps something could be added to the Gadget II documentation?

    Thanks again!
