ETC Element - Flashing / Blinking Submasters - what happened?

Just curious ,student turned on our ETC Element board and said they didn't touch anything, however when I got to the board all the green lights were all flashing in unison, (1-60 submaters were selected on the channel / submaster dial) Got it to stop however, I was curious what might have happened and if I should worry about anything into the future for the board?

  • this would e.g. happen when the internal sub level is different from the physical one. so let's say you switch off your Element when all subs are at 0. while it's off you move all faders to the top and switch on the Element, you would have blinking subs.
since an Element doesn't have motorized fader it wants to tell you that you yourself would have to sync the phsical level to the internal one.

    could this be what happened?
