Limiting the range of a Martin Mac

Element Console, Martin Mac 2000 Profile - I want to limit the range of 2 of the Martins for this show, so a student doesn't accidentally turn them to full power pointing at a piece of scenery or drapery. Is this an Element adjustment or Martin adjustment?

If I'm not mistaken, (and it has been some years since I've used one of those lights), there are limit settings in the Mac 2000 menus. I know they have DMX offsets, and I believe that they also have DMX limits. It's worth checking.

The other way to do it from your Element is to edit a copy of the fixture profile, and set the max and minimum DMX values for Pan and Tilt to something less than their default. Then, you'll need to assign that new fixture profile to those channels. The only downside to this method is that the console will now treat those two channels as different fixture types when it comes to by-type palettes.
