Long Distance Fader Panel

I am about to be a VERY happy Ion owner. (order could be placed as soon as today) The one question I have is:

The Ion is going to be a replacement for a Strand 300 series console. Our space was retrofitted at the time of purchase pulling CAT5 to the back stage, which allowed for an SM panel to be back stage.

 My question is this, can I run a 2x10 fader panel backstage using a USB over CAT5 adapter?

  • As a new recipient of the Ion myself at my High school, a new unison architectual system was put in which has already proven to be extremely helpful. We have not only the Ion up in the booth, but a 9 preset, 3 fader/preset control box up there, and one down backstage for the sm. We also came across the problem of our band/ chorus wanting to use the lights so I set a look on the stage/ the level of our houselights for them so that all they ever had to do is press one of the presets at the SM control backstage and never EVER go near my baby (Ion).
