Feature Request: Tombstone Labels

Can there be a way to directly label the channel tombstone? Preferably groups of them.  The Direct Selects and Magic sheets are great and all but they take time to configure and don't display the same status updates as the channel view.  It would be awesome if I could just label that view and save time when gigging.

A practical suggestion for how that could work might be to have a setting in groups to turn on a label, based on the group name, that shows up above channels in that group.

Thanks!

  • Just in case you had missed it in Magic Sheets, you can actually setup a channel to display all the values like the tombstones do PLUS the label

If you drop a channel (the C icon) onto the magic sheet and set its properties to
    field 1 - Label
    field 2 - Target ID
    field 3 - Intensity
field 4 - Color - although actually color swatch is more useful visually if you are busking
    field 5 - Beam
    field 5 - Focus

    that gives you the tombstone.

The other thing in magic sheets which can be missed is the rapid duplication of something once you've got it right.

So once you are happy with your single tombstone for channel 1, then you click the edit mode arrow top left and pick channel start 2 click ok

Then make sure your "perfect" tombstone is selected and pick the alignment icon 2 along from the arrow top right, chose create array enter say 10 as columns 10 as spacing and the same for rows click ok and it will then set you up 100 tombstone for channels 1 thru 100.

Once you know what you are doing that process is actually very fast and you can of course then drag them around and lay them out in helpful way (eg matching the stage layout) and add some group select buttons. (Turn on reference labels in the cog on the button right and then you'll get the names for your focus pallets)

If you are busking, magic sheets are really the way you want to go as you can have it all laid out the way you need it and everything you need to do just a click away. So much so that I will do everything from the magic sheet and never touch the desk buttons other than GO (although I have that on magic sheet as well)
