Ion Xe 20 Console Data Sheet lists the following: Two video connectors support display-port external displays (1280x1024)

The Data Sheet for the new Ion Xe 20 Console lists the following:

"Two video connectors support display-port external displays (1280x1024) with optional single-touch or multi-touch screen control"

Is that the upper or lower limit for screen size?  If that is the upper limit that seems kind of small to me.  I'm sure I'm currently using a much larger screen than that as a second screen on an ETC Element (XP) now, in addition to an ELO touch screen.

  • Okay, I went and looked at the Specification and it says:

"a.             Two Display Port output connectors, supporting Windows 7 compliant monitors as 1280x1024 resolution minimum. Touchscreen/multi-touch support of any/all of these monitors is provided."

So I've answered my own question, 1280x1024 is the minimum, sorry about that.

What is the maximum resolution supported?

  • there used to be a maximum of 1920x1080 (Full HD) for external monitors on consoles, but i don't know if this has changed with the advent of display port. do you have monitors with more than full hd?
  • One of the Monitors we are using on our Element is an ASUS VP278H Monitor - 27" (1920x1080) so (Full HD) so I know that works fine. One of the monitors I have on my Desktop is 1920x1200 but I haven't tried it on the Element yet as the VP278H and the ELO are fine for now.

We're thinking of moving up to one of the new ION Xe 20's as controlling 20 moving lights (12 of which are VL1100TSD's) on the Element is a bit of a pain with no encoders. And I understand our XP Element is going to need an upgrade to a Win 7 Motherboard for all the new features to work properly once Eos family v 2.7 comes out.

So I'm just doing some research, exploring our options.
