Different intensity change rates

This should be an easy one, didn't see it in a tutorial though. How do I program a set of channels to have a, let's just say, 3 second intensity increase and a different set of channels to have a 1 second decrease in the same cue. Ion light board.

  • Use a "Split Fade" which is a Cue with a different up time than down time in the cue. For example, if you wanted to do this in an existing Cue #10, type the following:

    [Cue] [1] [0] [Time] [3] [Time] [1] [Enter]

The following syntax does the same thing:

    [Cue] [1] [0] [Time] [3] [/] [1] [Enter]

The Video explaining this is here:  07.2 Record with Time

  • The answer from Salazar is how to have different up and down time in a cue.

But if you want to have different channels in the cue with different timings then you can do it two ways

You can apply discrete timing to the channels by doing

    1 thru 10 time 3/1

    and then save the cue

but better is to use multipart cues as discrete timing can be hard to see and someone asks for the timinig to change and you have to find the channels and change them.

multipart cues allows you to split the cue into different parts with different timing

So you could record one set of lights in the cue then add the other lights just as you would if you were recording 2 cues but instead of doing Record 10 , you would do Record 10 Part 2

You can then set the cue timing

    Cue 10 Part 2 time 7/0

When you press GO both parts of the cue start running with their different timings (you can also use delay if you want to delay the parts of the cue from starting together)
  • as long as everything going brighter uses one time and everything going less bright uses another time you don't need discrete timing but can simply use the split timing.

@Mike: 1 thru 10 time 3/1 throws an error. in discrete times there is no slash notation
