Fixture Profile - Martin Encore

Hello,

First show using the new Martin Encore Performance. Just wanted to mention that I think it would probably be nice if default there are two fixtures, WRM and CLD, because of the Warm and Cold variants of the fixture.

Secondly can I request that the hibernation mode, which is currently set as a lamp control (fixture shutdown and wake up); could this become a parameter instead? I have a feeling that the way we will want to programme this is on a Q by Q, fixture by fixture basis. This should probably be a separate fixture so that programmers can chose whether hibernation is a lamp control or parameter? Could this be called Hibernation too - it is not really a shutdown, it is more a sleep....

Thanks! Max

  • Hello, Max:

First:  I will see what we can do about making two profiles to differentiate.  They do have the same control layout.

Second:  We cannot take a single lamp control in this fixture and separate it out to be a parameter instead.  The main reason for this is the fixture uses a single DMX address for all of it's lamp control functions.  Within that address certain levels must be sent and held for a specified amount of time in order for the action to occur.

I hope this image of the manual for the fixture can help to explain why this would be no simply task.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Sasha,

Thanks for your reply - great about the first point. It was just something I had to do straight off as I'm going to have different colour mixes for both units and therefore want the "by type" to work correctly.

Hibernation - understand, just thought Id ask. I've spent too long on MA2 recently where the "Control" is a parameter category...

    Thanks again,

    Max
