define default... within a showfile? you can use the tab config menu where you also moved the label column to the front to set this as default by clicking "Set Current as Default". every new PSD tab you open from now on will use that default, as long as this showfile is open.
The default settings and which tab is the default is not saved with the show file. So it's always a good idea to record a snapshot with your PSD the way you want it. Then if you need to you can recall that snapshot and set the PSD tab from the snapshot to be your default.
