issue with showfile on Nomad

I wonder if anyone can help with this. I have been working to develop a default showfile on Nomad, with direct selects and other aspects already set up before I arrive at the venue. On my most recent show, I did this but when set up, most of the rig (but not all) did not respond, despite showing on the screen as being on. I did all the usual fault finding throughout the DMX path and found nothing. In desperation, I opened a new file and found the few fixtures I tested were all working fine. I then merged most of the elements from the faulty showfile, including the patch, and it is now working fine. However, when I revert to the old default file, it still doesn't work. Is there some hidden or obscure setting that I may have set by accident? It just leaves me wondering will this also happen with the new file. Any ideas would be great.

  • What version? Initially as I started reading I thought that the patch was not right but you said that you merged the patch from the old show file. Did you change anything in patch at all? You mentioned finding the fixtures did you have to repatch them to get them to work? Did you merge the patch over the new one you used to test the fixtures?
    Many questions. Sorry about this but I am learning so I need all the info I can get.

    I am on version 2.6.3 and had been testing the showfile at home with a few LEDs connected. I don't think I changed anything in the patch and the direct selects are now working fine in the revised showfile. When testing the fixtures originally, I only did a few and not to the same channels. As far as I can remember, I just imported the patch onto an empty showfile. All done under a little pressure as the director needed access to the stage etc., so I am not fully sure, but the current revised showfile seems to be working fine. I reverted to the original one to see if for some other reason I had missed some reason I had overlooked something and it might be magically back working, but it wasn't, so I am now back on the revised file.

    the one thing i can think of (although it contradicts that it worked after merging the patch from the faulty showfile). have a look at the Interface field on Patch. select a channel that works in your faulty showfile and one that doesn't work. compare the content of the interface field.

    I had a look at that and all settings, both in the working and the non-working file are the same - both DMX and sACN, as they are on all other working showfiles. I will be at the venue again later today and will do some further testing to see if I can find any differences between the working and non-working versions.
