1.4.2 is released and available for download

sv 1.4.2 is now available from the downloads section of the Eos and Ion product pages.   Also, note new revisions to the operations manuals have been posted.   Please be sure to download the release note to get a recap of new functions and bug fixes.  Top level stuff though:

Ion RPU is available for shipment and supported in 1.4.2.

Artnet and Avab UDP protocols

Real time clock functions

Support for the Net 3 I/O gateway

There are a list of software enhancements in the release note as well.   Ion users.... please be advised that in 1.4.2, we are now supporting a default sub 1 = channel 1 mapping.   Many of you are going to really like this.  If you are an Ion user running multiple cue lists.... please be aware that you'll need to release some of these submasters to enable secondary cue lists to load and automatically replay.   This little hinky will be addressed in our next major software release, so please bear with us.   If you know you don't want a default sub to channel map, right now, it is recommended that you [Delete] [Sub] [1] [thru] [300] [Enter] and then unload your faders (Release + Load) or unmap them in fader config.  Store this as a master show file.

1.4.2 addresses a substantial number of outstanding defects and extends existing functionality, so it is highly recommended.  In the release note, make sure to check out the "update library" function.  The manual has a full explanation.  But, as always, feel free to ask here!

Thanks all.  Happy programming.

  • The link, "Eos / Ion Software v1.4.2 Release Notes"  is not working.  I get,

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

Where would I find the manual updates?  They don't jump out at me from website of downloads.

I got the release notes, but are these updates to the 1.4.0 manual?

    Thanks.

The manual itself has been re-released.    If you look at the date/time stamp, you'll see a date of 10/08.

    Hope this helps.

    Anne-

If I call up an old show (1.4.1) that had subs in it, it loads them without a problem - nothing else. But when I shut down and start the console up again, it has mapped the unused subs to channels. Not sure if the above would still apply since it is an existing show. Will I have to delete the unused subs and then re-save in 1.4.2?

    Thanks

  • Thanks for reporting the sub  issue. It does appear that if you restart after loading a pre 1.4.2 show, it will create those subs for any subs that didn't exist in your 1.4.1 show. This is a defect and will be fixed soon. If you reload your showfile after you restart, the showfile will not include those subs.

Unfortunately, I don't think deleting the subs and resaving will fix this. The problem is that Ion is creating those subs on startup, and then it's never told to delete them before loading the new file, so unless they are overwritten by the new file, they will be there when you startup. This is only the case on startup.
