ION (and EOS) remote power startup and shutdown

Due to the fact that both ION and EOS are regular PC parts, I was able to figure out how to remotely start up our board. This is done through a simple Wake on LAN program by inserting the MAC address of the board, and viola! we have power. However, without tearing apart the board does anyone know how to remotely shut it down? Or if that's not possible, will everything work normally is we simply cut power to it? (by putting it on our sequencer- irrelevant but just in case you asked why)

Feel free to use the power on idea, works great and hopefully someone will have some insight as to the powering down.

  • We have a macro that we have fired successfully several times from our RFR.  We built it in an older software version but it doesn't appear as if you can build Macros using the CIA anymore since we have to keep importing the macro instead of just rebuilding it.  It makes channel check a lot easier since our RFRs are usually stored in the shop.
