Generic LED Par Lights and Patching Them (ETC ION)

Hello,

I have 5 generic RGB led par lights on a single bar and hooked up DMX-wise in a daisy chain method. At the end of the chain, I have a DMX cord going into a DMX Input wall plug which connects to our ETC ION in our booth. I tried patching them but they were not responding or doing anything. The lights require 7 channels per unit and i tried to use a generic LED RGB 8B as the type but it is not working. What am I doing wrong? I am not a complete expert with DMX lighting just yet.

I read this and wonder if the DMX at the wall is really an input, you would want a DMX output from the console not sure of your installation situation but might be a start.

As to what fixture to use you will want to find one that has the same parameters as the one you are using what are the 4 other parameters on your fixture?

I guess I did forget to mention, the wall does have a DMX output next to it. Do I need to use that one?

Yes you should use the output. The input is so you can set up a console in a different location.

The console supplies DMX to all fixtures so the path is Console Out to Fixture In, then daisy from there.
